There Is No One-Size-Fits-All Style Of Mediation

A mediator must have the flexibility to adjust to any set of circumstances that arise during a session. My flexibility and mediation skills have been honed through my years in this profession. One may enter a session where parties are in the throes of dispute and the environment appears hostile and aggressive. On the other hand, parties may have already engaged in productive conversation. Yet, the atmosphere may turn on a dime.

A successful mediator has the skills to call upon in any circumstance. A mediator must be flexible, have patience and tolerance as she assists the parties work through and understand the legal, psychological, and technical aspects that arise. A mediator’s success requires clear communication, careful listening and supporting creative thinking. Essentially, a mediator must honor the parties’ needs to be fully heard. A mediator hears and carefully holds confidential essential information from each party.

Mediation is a vital tool not only in litigation-related circumstances but is effective in assisting the resolution of inter- and intra-familial disputes. Mediation may be used to resolve prelitigation disputes relating to corporate management, employer/employee, business partners, and work colleagues.

Guiding Principles

Effective mediation avoids rigid formulas; the mediator must be capable of pivoting based on the evolving atmosphere of a meeting. Jean's refined skills are the result of extensive professional experience. Whether managing a high-tension environment or working with cooperative individuals, success depends on the ability to guide participants through legal complexity and personal friction with a blend of professional persistence and deep empathy.

Impact and Reach

Mediation is an essential resource for litigation and is equally powerful for resolving internal family friction. It serves as a sophisticated tool for pre-litigation issues within corporate structures, employee-employer relations, and among business partners or colleagues.

Policy on Conflict of Interest

Regarding potential conflicts: Throughout my practice, I have engaged with a vast number of law firms and counsel. I have provided professional services to an immense list of individuals. Since I do not maintain a historical database of every past contact, I am unable to supply a formal conflict-of-interest certificate if requested.
